The mocks are the first real test of the year

Mock results often shape the predicted grades and school references that follow your child through sixth form and university applications. They are also the clearest early signal of which topics are secure and which are not.

The October half term is the last uninterrupted stretch before mock season. Used well, it turns loose revision into targeted, measurable progress. Used as a rest week, it leaves the gaps where they are.

  • Not sure where the gaps are?

Each session opens with a short diagnostic, so teaching goes straight to the topics that would cost marks in the mocks.

  • Revising at home without a plan?

A subject specialist teacher replaces scattered revision with focused teaching, guided practice and a clear plan for the weeks before the mocks.

  • Exam technique costing marks?

Timed questions marked against real mark schemes show your child where marks are won and lost, and how to pick them up.

  • Unsure how ready they really are?

A short diagnostic at the start of every session shows exactly where your child stands, so they know what to focus on before the mocks.

Data-driven teaching. Proven results.

The same three-step approach we use all year, focused on the mocks in every subject session.

Questions about subjects or timings? Speak to our Upper Secondary team.

  1. Data-driven diagnosis

Each session begins with a short diagnostic. We see exactly which topics are secure and which will cost marks in the mocks.

  2. Personalised learning

Subject specialist teachers, trained to Improve ME standards, teach to those gaps and practise timed questions against the mark scheme. Every student works on what they need, not a generic revision list.

  3. Clear next steps

Every student leaves knowing which topics are secure and what to focus on before the mocks. No guesswork, no surprises in the results.
