KS3 English — English Tutoring in Dubai for Years 7–9
English is not simply a school subject — it is a set of skills. At KS3, the skills your child builds in reading comprehension, analysis, and writing will determine how far they can go at GCSE and beyond. At Improve ME Institute, we teach KS3 English in small groups (maximum 6, average 2–3) using our EngLit programme, with structured resources, weekly written feedback, and a safe environment where students are encouraged to test ideas and develop their own analytical voice.
Why Students Struggle at KS3 English
The most common gap is analytical writing. Students can broadly understand a poem or extract but cannot interrogate it. GCSE exam boards reward original, out-of-the-box thinking at the highest grade bands — and that thinking must be developed well before Year 10. Many students are also held back by a fear of being wrong. In English, any interpretation supported by evidence is valid.

The EngLit Programme at Improve ME
EngLit resources used at KS3 include topic trackers, grammar and comprehension exercises, essay writing frameworks, punctuation booklets, and structured EngLit reading logs. Students are also encouraged to read a novel monthly — the single most effective way to build vocabulary and analytical stamina over time.
How We Track Progress
Parents receive written feedback after each session covering Reading and Comprehension, Sentence Structure, and Spelling. We recommend comparing Improve ME feedback with your child's school report at mid-term to identify and address specific gaps in the following term.
