Your questions deserve a considered answer.
Choosing a different education pathway is a significant decision. We help you understand the academic choices, the support available and the next step for your child.
- 1
Where do we begin?
We start with your child's current academic position, then help you consider subjects, qualifications and a personalised learning plan.
- 2
Will learning have enough structure?
Regular sessions, learning targets and ongoing progress checks give the programme a clear direction without a traditional school structure.
- 3
How will I know it is working?
Teacher feedback and continuous assessment keep the focus on what your child understands, what needs more practice and what comes next.
- 4
What about exams and university?
We connect examination preparation, private candidate guidance and future university planning to the same academic journey.
Education built around your child
More than homeschooling. A complete academic pathway.
Our homeschooling programme offers structured academic support without attending a traditional school. We help you decide what to study, build a personalised plan, support regular learning and prepare for what comes next.

Teaching and academic planning work together, rather than as separate pieces.

- Ongoing parent feedback
- Revision, past papers and mock examinations
Application & examination support
Guidance beyond the learning session.

- Private candidate registration guidance
- Support with the application process
- Examination dates and preparation planning
- University pathway guidance with Oncourse
- Subject choices connected to future goals
Subject & qualification selection
Choose the right qualification pathway.
The right starting point is not the same for every student. We help you consider subject combinations, qualification requirements and university ambitions.
Edexcel IGCSE.
A potential international qualification pathway, with subject and specification choices guided by the student's academic position and future plans.
Subject and specification planning: consider existing knowledge, qualification requirements, appropriate subject combinations and future academic goals. Share your preferred subjects with the academic team to discuss the available options.
These are indicative planning windows, not a subject-specific examination timetable. Ask the academic team to check the relevant specification, available examination session, registration arrangements and exact dates before making an examination entry.

How our homeschooling programme works
A clear plan for every stage of the journey.
Explore the 4 parts of our approach to see the full 10-step pathway, from understanding your child to planning for university.
Understand your child before setting the direction.
The first conversation and diagnostic build a picture of your child's knowledge, learning history and future ambitions.
Understand
Discuss previous education, current academic level, strengths, learning gaps, goals and future ambitions.
Diagnose
Identify existing knowledge, missing concepts and the areas that need targeted support through an initial academic diagnostic.
A clear picture of where your child is today.
Teaching informed by understanding
Human teaching. Technology-driven progress.
Technology does not replace teachers. It helps them understand students better, identify learning gaps and make more informed decisions about what comes next.
Parents should always know how their child is progressing.
A clear starting point.
The initial diagnostic helps the academic team understand existing knowledge, missing concepts and learning priorities.
Regular checks, not just a final result.
Topic assessments, regular tests and mock examinations help monitor understanding, retention and examination readiness.
Feedback that informs the next step.
Teacher comments and progress reviews keep the learning plan responsive and give parents ongoing information about their child's development.
What ongoing feedback can cover.
- Academic level
- Topics completed
- Areas for improvement
- Teacher comments
- Learning-plan progress
- Exam readiness
Examinations & the next academic step
Prepare with purpose. Progress with a plan.
Studying at home does not mean navigating examinations alone. Preparation is built into the learning journey, with separate guidance for private candidate registration and applications.

Examination preparation.
Academic support focuses on the knowledge, practice and approach your child needs for the examination.
- Curriculum revision
- Past-paper practice
- Mock examinations
- Examination technique
- Time management
- Targeted topic revision
- Support with weaker topics
- Readiness monitoring
Private candidate support.
Registration and application guidance helps you understand the practical steps around sitting examinations.
- Examination-board options
- Specification selection
- Registration guidance
- Application support
- Examination planning
- Preparation timelines
Plan learning and examination entries together. Our role includes academic preparation and guidance through the private candidate process. Before making an entry, discuss the examination board, specification, registration and application steps, examination dates, responsibilities and any charges with the academic team.
Start with the destination. Build the pathway.
The right academic choices today can open the right university opportunities tomorrow. We help connect future ambitions to the decisions your child is making now.

Your questions, answered
A little more clarity before you decide.
From programme structure to examinations, these are useful starting points for your conversation with our academic team.
Ask an academic advisorWhat does the homeschooling programme include?
Improve ME Institute supports a complete academic pathway: an initial diagnostic, subject and qualification selection, a personalised learning plan, regular teaching, continuous progress checks and parent feedback. Examination preparation, private candidate guidance and university planning form part of the wider journey.
Which qualifications and subjects can my child study?
Edexcel IGCSE and International A-Level are potential pathways to discuss with the academic team. Subject and specification choices are guided by your child's current knowledge, qualification requirements, target grades and future university plans. Share the subjects you need so the team can discuss availability and the appropriate route. GCSE, IB and other curriculum choices in the enquiry form record your interests; they do not confirm homeschooling provision for those routes.
When can my child start, and how often will they attend?
Start with a diagnostic and a conversation about your child's previous education, current level, learning gaps and goals. The programme includes regular small-group sessions and a personalised learning plan. Contact the academic team to discuss age and year-group suitability, start dates, delivery arrangements, weekly availability and session length before enrolling.
How will I know how my child is progressing?
Parents receive ongoing feedback. Updates can cover assessment results, topics completed, areas for improvement, teacher comments, attendance, learning-plan progress and examination readiness. The learning plan is reviewed and adapted as needed.
Can you support private candidates with examinations?
Yes. Academic preparation includes curriculum revision, past-paper practice, mock examinations, exam technique and time management. Separately, private candidate guidance covers examination-board options, specification choices, registration, applications and examination planning. Before making an entry, ask the academic team to explain the arrangements, responsibilities, dates and any charges for the chosen qualification.
What are the fees and the policy for missed sessions?
Fees are quoted per session, per subject, from the current rate card. Contact the academic team for the rates and inclusions relevant to your child's subjects and learning plan. Ask about any separate registration or examination charges and the missed-session policy before enrolling. The team is the point of contact for questions about attendance and programme arrangements.
