Understanding the IB Middle Years Programme and how we support it
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a challenging 5-year framework for students aged 11–16, designed by the International Baccalaureate. It bridges the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP), developing internationally minded, critical thinkers.
MYP goes beyond memorisation — it focuses on inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary thinking, and real-world problem solving. Students are assessed through internal tasks, a Personal Project, and eAssessments.
At Improve ME, our tutors understand the MYP framework deeply — from subject-specific criteria to the ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills that underpin MYP success. We target criterion scores of 6 and 7 across all assessed criteria.
