PRIMARY LEARNING
Key Stage 2
Ages 7–11 (Years 3–6)Years 3 to 6 — the bridge from primary to secondary
Key Stage 2 is where academic foundations become academic skills. In Lower KS2 (Years 3 and 4), children build the core knowledge and confidence they need — mastering times tables, developing as writers, and beginning to think like scientists. In Upper KS2 (Years 5 and 6), the focus shifts toward exam readiness — GL Assessments, 11+ preparation, and the deeper mathematical and analytical thinking that secondary school demands from day one. At Improve ME, every KS2 student is matched to the right level within their year group, not just their year group alone.

Curriculum & Assessment
GL Assessments and readiness for secondary
At the end of Year 6, children in England (and many British curriculum schools in Dubai) sit GL Assessments in Reading, Mathematics, and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Science is typically assessed by teacher assessment. These results help secondary schools understand each child's attainment and can inform setting and support in Year 7.
We support KS2 students with curriculum-aligned teaching and exam-style practice so they approach the tests with confidence. We also offer 11+ entrance exam preparation for families whose children are applying to selective schools.
What Parents Say About Key Stage 2
"Improve ME prepared our daughter brilliantly for the GL Assessments. She went in confident and achieved well above what we'd hoped. The small groups (average 2–3 students) and clear teaching made all the difference."
Parent, Year 6 student
"We needed 11+ support and general maths and English catch-up. They did both — our son got into his first-choice school and is now thriving in Year 7. Can't recommend them enough."
Parent, former Year 6 student
"The transition from primary to secondary felt smooth because the foundations were so solid. Improve ME didn't just teach to the test; they built real understanding."
Parent, Year 7 student
